landlocked

So I started putting together some short stories for a kids book.
This is just a quick one, fun and silly.
Took about 5 minutes this morning at work to write. Needs finishing...
Had a friends 10 year old daughter and her friends read it over and they were into it,
so I guess its alright.
Haha, Still needs a lot of work though...

Macadama Drake was thin as a rake,
He lived by one rule, that was take take take take!

He lived in a house that was dreadful and dreary,
One day he decided, all mournful and teary,
"This collection of currency is making me weary."
"I want to be happy!", said the miserable man,
I want people to love me while theres still strength in my hands,

All this cash in the attic, is straining the timbers,
and the change in my shoes, is giving me blisters!
My mattress is all lumpy and filled with doubloons,
I cant get rest at night and wake up mid afternoons!

Im up at all hours! He proclaimed with a scowl,
I dont go outside, save to shout at the owls!
with their fluffy round faces, I dont give a hoot,
They sit at the windows eyeballing my loot!
