I really need to start taking my camera with me more often, everything I want to talk about here would be better with pictures!
Lollapalooza was a really good time. Got to see a lot of bands I really like (Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Juliette and the Licks, LCD Soundsystem, Blonde Redhead, Interpol), bands I had never seen live (Heartless Bastards, Femi Kuti, Hold Steady, Regina Spektor), and a few bands I'd never really heard of (CSS, Ted leo and the Pharmacists, The Rapture). Of course it was a madhouse, but the organization seems to get better and better every year. AT&T had this huge ass tent with A/C, couches, computers, PS3s and all stages simulcast for when it got too hot. Bathrooms were plentiful and the food/drink choices were pretty good (although Bud being exclusive beer sponsor is a lil icky for a snob like me).
The closing on my new place went fine, and I've gotten a chance to move over some of my stuff. Hopefully there won't be too much left to move on the last Sat of the month when I empty out the old place. I feel the desire to sleep there, but there isn't any furniture yet (although there is TV, stereo and internet). I am going to be selling/getting rid of a bunch of old stuff so I don't have to move it (a couch, an armoire, a bookcase, my stereo, my VCR, a minidisc player, etc.). Details and pictures to follow.
This Sunday, I'm racing a half marathon. I have a reasonable goal time so there really isn't any pressure, but I'd still like to do well. Then the week after will be my first 20 mile training run ever, eeek.
Hmm, nothing else fun to talk about, just work, work, work. Hope to see you folks soon.
