Went to taos this weekend; walked in the crystal darkness of late winter down a great gorge to the banks of the rio grande wherein lies old hotsprings. Oh my, it was something special.
Going to a place like this with the locals makes it that much better, too. There was a certain sort of nonchalance that helped me really relax and soak up the spirit of the place.
It's a little difficult now to be back home, back in the big city. I'm drinking tonight. I can't decide if I mind.
My O.C.D. tendencies of cleaning the kitchen and putting everything away seem to have given way to A.D.D., fiddling with 20 different things for 30 seconds apiece. So far I'm calm. That's good. I think my least favorite emotion is frustrated rage. Or maybe helpless abandonment. It's a close race...
Still, I wonder if I'll be able to get anything done this way...
So far tonight it seems that I've gotten the wireless router to finally play nice with the dsl modem, but spoiled the usb soundcard and need to reboot. Grmph.
p.s. Looks like its all working. Restarting X (mswindows alternative; "real men use unix" ) did the trick. Finally fixed internet radio, too, after 2-odd weeks -- maybe 30 seconds per thought is a good operational style after all...
