Today is november 25th, the day to say NO to violence against women.
In just 11 months of 2024 in italy there have been 96 women killed and thousands of female victims of physical and psychological abuse, harassment, sexual violence and stalking. The government deludes us that all this violence can be eradicated simply with harsher penalties or a cultural battle, but it's the society founded on exploitation that they defend which represents the fertile ground where gender violence takes place, where class oppression and gender inequality are intertwined, as demonstrated by the disparity in the world of work, the salary gap, the rates of female unemployment, the burden of domestic work.
To those who intend to exploit the deaths and daily suffering of women we must know how to respond by forcefully opposing the collective commitment to transform society. It concerns all of us, men and women, it must live in daily practice to combat every form of sexism and gender abuse starting from our places of study, work, sociality. Without organization there is no change.
For the emancipation of women and all the exploited, for the future we deserve: let's shout and fight for freedom!
