I finally got a purple lace leaf Japanese Maple!! I think I am going to put it in my large bonsai pot. It was only $12!! Upon inspection I noticed that it was a graft of a Purple lace leaf branch on to a regular green Japanese Maple, but still. I actually think it would be cool if some branches shot out from the lower trunk. The cool thing is, Maples are easy to reproduce from stem cuttings, so when it gets big I am going to start some babies from it.
Now I seriously need a weeping blue atlas cedar. They are right up there with Maples and Wisterias.
The garden is getting big. I cut back the Jerusalem Sage. The blooms were fading and it was falling over on top of my little baby tri colored sages that are just starting to really pop their heads up for the summer.
I wish I could plant Lily of the Valley, but it is poisonous as all hell and I have animals that eat plants. I want to get some "Love Lies Bleeding" but it gets big and I don't have anywhere to put it. I need to get another landscaping client. One that will let me pick out the plants instead of asking for petunias and frigging daisies. Don't get me wrong, petunias and daisies are quaint, but I like Ornamental grasses and purple flax. I like the silvery color and different textures of Artemisia. I like to see foliage that is purple, chartreuse, and black. Blues and reds and variegated multi colored leaves.
I found some lovely tubers that look just like variegated purple clover, and that is not all, they often have 4 leaves!!
Yes, I am a geek with a passion for plants. My friends call me the gothic Martha Stewart. I make gardening spooky though! ;-)
Maybe if you all are lucky, I will post my infamous to die for Thai curry recipe. I can't post the measurements though. Not because I won't share, but because I am an intuitive cook. I only measure when I am baking. My mama taught me that cooking is an art, and baking is a science. She taught me to know what each spice and seasoning tastes like all by itself so that I can know intuitively what my dish needs. Tell me what your favorite fine food is and I will see if I can come up with a recipe.

you should see my dad's garden... he transformed his entire backyard into one big plant lovers wet dream.
TMJ does sound really inconvenient to say the least. Worst thing I do to my jaw is charlie horse it showing friends exactly why I'd be a popular gay man if I were so inclined.
I'd heard that about Burning Man... but I'm all up for experiencing new things.
