Uh, whoops
I was just informed (in a very polite manner) that it is customary to leave a comment on someones journal before listing them as a friend.
I am used to live journal. In fact, I have come close to leaving lj-cut tags while posting here, and I am not used to not being able to reply to peoples comments here the way I would on LJ or DJ.
Okay, so this is my official fill in the newbie on etiquette post. I guess I am supposed to reply to comments on the journal page of the people who left them? If they ask me a good question and I reply to it in a journal post here, dost that maketh a snob of me?? See, like I said, I am used to LJ. Most people who use LJ have no manners, and it is a public forum, so you know, piss on them, and if they like it, eat a bushel of asparagus and then piss on them again. If they still like it, uh, let me know if you think of anything creative. Since this is not a public forum, and I was kindly invited to join, I feel like I should have at least some semblance of social grace
One thing, I was asked to tell a fire story
I have always had not only a fascination, but a deep reverence for fire. I would go so far as to say it is a fetish, and I will also go so far as to say that fetishes are nothing more than strong karmic propensities that come forth from previous incarnations. Any deep seated passion or desire that seems to have a mysterious familiarity to it is likely something that one has had a strong connection with before.
I had a dream a while back in which I was a serpent that swam through an abyss of fire unscathed, intertwined with my consort, and at some point everything shattered. The images literally broke into pieces, and I found myself alone
I have likened this dream to a parable in which I have a strong connection to the Torturous Serpent and the Slant Serpent, Lilith and Samael in their primordial aspect. There are two kinds of Luminaries, the luminaries of light, and the luminaries of fire.
Like I have said in a previous post about the Tantras; Demons, Asuras, Titans, Gods, whatever you want to call them, are archetypal aspects of our own being. This, however, doesnt make them entirely subjective beings. Anything that can be thought and concentrated upon can become subject to objective manifestation. This is where the Tibetan concept of Tulpas come into play.
Alas, I am straying entirely off the subject of fire. Me and my knack for free association How quaint. Well, now you know part of the reason why I have a strong fetish for fire.
Namaste
