They're fire horses, in honor of my starting a new decade of life, symbolizing my Chinese astrological sign & element, my fierce independence and my lust for life. Fire horses only come around every 60 years, from what I've read. Female babies in China who were born under the fire horse sign were held back from being registered with the government until the following year because girls in China are expected to be subserviant and demure... NOT!
