Cool, thanx for the comment Veronica. Made me happy. The new girl rocks! Anyone that thinks about math before, during, and after sex is a friend of mine. I just have to wonder if she was being truthful or if she is just saying that to make fun of geeks like me. Tell me the truth Al... Hmmm... I bought myself a self-help book about Java yesturday. I figure if I am going to try the whole life sans school thing again, perhaps I should bother to study some on the side. Let's see how long that lasts... It's a shame too, 'cause I was really looking forward to getting into some of the more advanced math stuff this semester in my calc 2 class.
Hmmm... Well, on the upside, I told my friend Aaron today that I had dropped out and he immediately suggested that we go traveling this summer. Oh, that would be soooooo sweet. I haven't caught a frieght or hitched in about a year and a half. It will be so good to be on the open road again. God damn, man! Anybody else out there in SG land have any cool stories about traveling around a la Jack Kerouac style? I'd love to hear 'em. I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours (grins).

When I was about 20 (hard to believe that was four years ago!) I discovered the magical writing of Kerouac. After reading pretty much everything he wrote (and reading plenty of Ginsberg and Burroughs and everything) I took off "on the road" myself.
Did a lot of driving and hitching around these here states and had some good times..
One of the most mentionable was when I ran out of gas just outside of Threeforks Montana. Kerouac fans might remember that he enjoyed a night of debauchery in that very same little big sky country outpost. Anyway, I had a wild time. Was half drunk walking down the highway back to town and got picked up by a cop! Fortunately he turned out to be alright (one of only about two cool cops I have run into in my life out of the dozens I have had the misfortune to encounter) He gave me a ride to town but being pretty well broke I didn't know what the hell I was supposed to do. I was on my way to stay with some people I knew in Bozeman so I called them to ask if they could help me out, but of course, they weren't there. Anyway, to make a long story short, I spent half the night wondering around Threeforks watching people (this is like a one gas station town so I was only watching about 5 people and everything but one bar and the one gas station was closed and after about midnight those closed too) So I left a couple messages on my friends' answering machine and hitched a ride back to my van with a wild local dude who insisted I give him some "California green weed" but I didn't have any and felt kinda bad I didn't because he was weird but real cool and when we got back to the van he wouldn't leave because he was so interested in why I was travelling and he wanted to leave Montana, he wound up telling me his life story in exchange for mine but I just wanted to sleep it off.. Was real weird.. I crashed out in the van half drunk still after having had several more drinks at the one joint in town that was serving drinks. Thankfully my friends found me by the road ( I had told them I was stationed about 5 miles east of Threeforks and Bozeman is only like 40 miles away if I recall correctly) So they got me some gas and I stayed at there place until I could get some money from home and continue my trip..
Wilder things happened on my travels but this night really stands out in my memory because of where I was, afterall JK had been there himself some 60+ years before and I don't think this town had changed one iota since he was there...
Nowadays (I don't really like that word) I am more into travelling to other countries than having Kerouacesque excursions in the states. Although he did have a hell of a time in Mexico, but Mexico is ruined now, it's all about Nicaragua and other destinataions farther south..
