I finally got the star on my tattoo fixed. It only took 5 years and 4 sessions to fix what should have been a relatively easy tattoo. Now it's black and red and all good. Luckily my friend's wife is a tattoo artist here in Memphis and she did it for free which is an awesome bonus. She was working on a tattoo on her husband's arm (the second picture) and afterward she was in a tattooing mood and fixed mine. Hooray for good friends!
