Behavior and Wisdom
In the morning we wake, some eager-some with regret...
Suit ourselves in lies and misdirections, a smokescreen of polyester blend.
The ritual begins and finds its end much too soon, the day has begun.
As we emerge, ready for battle or ready to run, life begins to pass us by...
Another story, another excuse, another alibi... Shamelessly oblivious.
Digress and recuperate, examine the angles like never before...
Notice and understand a new perception, shift focus to the details.
The color of a bird's wing in the afternoon sunlight, a glimpse in mid flight...
The wonder and comfort of a warm summer breeze, sea salt and sweet strawberries.
Awake to the magnificent possibilities for peace and serenity.
Believe in love unconditionally, in friendships ever-lasting, in the joy of childhood innocence.
Age is gaining now, slowly creeping closer until it is standing on your toes.
Tender moments once taken for granted only now become clear...
Breathing in deeply and exhaling slowly, so slowly... accepting one's path.
What the mind and the heart once felt are amplified and overridden...
Facing the reality of a life incomplete. If you only knew then what you know now.
