If you are not adding a spoonful of rosewater and a sprinkle of cardomom to your mango peach pear vanilla yogurt smoothie, start now. It's never too late. sip while petting your bengal tiger and listening to Yma Sumac. Then go switch the laundry over, and finish vaccuming.
Oh you don't know who Yma Sumac is?? Poor dear...Cats love her music, just watch their little ears spin on their heads...
Last night was The Spaghetti Dinner To Make You A Vegitarian. We put soooo much effort into making the sauce, only to throw it all away...the ground meat was so vile, it wasn't off...it just had such a bloody, metallic taste, I have read in Dr. Temple Grandin's books all about pre-slaughter stress level affecting the colour and texture of meat, so matybe the taste might be affected? I don't know, I have been reading her website (go here to read it's very interesting) but I haven't seen any mention of taste changes. Anyways, it was nasty. Food items wasted (we made two different pans of sauce)
My sauce included: one onion, two cloves garlic, 0.4kg of organic ground beef, two large portobello mushrooms, one jar of Classico bell ppr sauce, three cups of baby spinach
Then Tore took some and added chorizo sausage, green and red bell pprs, fresh tomato and more garlic (ugh too much garlic).
So, I'm hoping the store will give me a voucher or just replace the food we had to throw out. Stupid meat handlers stop punching the cows, dammit.
One new interesting fact I learned from looking up "slaughtering cows" :: Cattle will not enter a race or conveyor line that goes in a straight line and appears to have a "dead end," so races are curved like so:
Hmph. Meat.
