Had a lovely little weekend that involved lots of relaxing and lots of food! haha
Thursday, after our annual performance reviews (which was just my boss telling me I'm awesome but also that the max raise given out is 2% due to the company not making as much this year which equals $835/year for me...wooooo....lol)...so of course, that meant I had to go to the bar. Which meant chocolate cake shots...mmmm!
The next morning, before heading out to volunteer at the food bank i had lunch with one of my best friends at my favorite restaurant. it's this awesome little place run by a christian commune or something. anyways, their food is local and organic for the most part, and is amazing. no soda on this menu except for natural sodas and rootbeer on tap, but lots and lots of teas and yerba mates. mmmm. we tried their yogurt parfait for the first time. SO GOOD. yogurt, local honey swirled in (mmm!!), bluberries, apples, banana, strawberries, and homemade granola with sunflower seeds and stuff...so good.
The next night, I tried my hand at making orange chicken, except using firm tofu instead of chicken. I found the panda express orange chicken sauce recipe, breaded and fried some tofu, then made a side of green beans in black bean sauce. O-M-G. SOOOO GOOD! this picture kind of sucks, but honestly, it was amazing.
the nights have been so nice here. went to a bar in carlsbad on saturday night and kicked it by the fire in a tank top haha gotta love san diego weather...
Went back to my favorite restaurant tonight for dinner. I think that's my 3rd time this week....lol Tried something new. They dont have a lot on the menu and i usually get one of two things, but i tried the make your own sandwich dealio...holy crap. they bake their own bread there. this was on the onion roll with melted havarti cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, avocado, and this amazing sauce. I took one bite and nearly died.
now i'm just relaxing with my cats. played a little bit of black ops. i woke up at 5pm (ack!), so im not tired at all. oops. haha
