I had to return the moving truck last night. I dropped it off near the Bridgeport brewery around 5:15 five hours later I finally made it home. I had a grand old time in my fair city. Mostly I walked around and took picturs. I had dinner and Bridgeport and desert at Voodoo Donuts. I noticed that they turned the Paris Theater in to a PeeWee Herman style porn theater. It used to be an all ages punk rock venue. Sad. I'm not anti-porn but this city is to porn what Las Vegas is to slot machines.
The great thing about the heat is that it makes drinking more, fun. If you could normally drink four pints and be pretty messed up, at 104 degrees you've just got a really nice buzz and you're ready for action. I had pints a Bridgeport, Blitz, and still my favorite downtown bar, Shanghai Tunnel. There, I discovered I had good cell reception despite being underground and started calling everyone I could think of. It seemed like they had 3 cds on rotation. One was that Johnny Cash cd were he covers everything, there was a Led Zeppllin cd, the one that has Dazed and Confused on it, and Motorhead, Ace of Spades. Other than drunk dialing and taking pictures, I actually spent a lot of that time writing.
I got on the wrong bus going home. I missed the last direct bus at 9:35 by a few minutes. I had to walk a bit. I found a page of sheet music in the street on the way home, no english at all just notes. I can't wait to hear it played. Whatever it is it's page 5 of 16. By the time I got home I was quite sober and sweaty. I still couldn't get to sleep till 2:30am. Today, although not really hung over, I feel like ass. Thank you Portland for a wonderful summer night. That was nice. If you want to check out some highlights of my time check outMy Photos
