So I rarely get political as you guys know.
But there is something I am really torn on - which is the student loan forgiveness act (http://tinyurl.com/7akydbk).
The reason why I am torn is I understand that educational debt can be crippling. However, it is important to get that education to move forward.
However, that being said myself and some of my friends, went without many a times in order to pay off our student loan debt. I didn't get a new car or go out some nights so that I could save money to pay off my debt. I busted my ass, lived in small apartments and ate ramen to pay it off. I could have more money in the bank right now, but emptied my little nest egg to pay off the remainder of the loan.
And so therefore, I feel like it is unfair that other people, like myself, have worked hard to pay off my debt -- but others, some who have been trying, but some who just waste their money on frivalous items get to just pay a portion of their loan and get the rest forgived. If I had known that was going to be an option then I wouldn't have risked paying it off out of my savings - with the thought that the interest I was receiving on savings was less than my loan percentage therefore costing me more money.
I don't know. I just feel like again those people who are responsible get screwed and those that weren't get a bailout. But then I think that some people are struggling. I am completely torn.

Yeah...it's only been since Thursday when I found out I have to remind myself instead of beating myself up.... I'm going to go. Maybe I'll sit by the water the whole time... Spent a good chunk so feel like I have to.
