The 1ds MkIII is sweet, they have corrected all the little bug bears I had with the MkII, fewer buttons, easier to navigate and the LCD is big ,clear and sharp.....so important to me with the flash work I'm doing, I can zoom in and see exactly what the flashes are doing and correct them or instruct my assistants accordingly. The files are around 61mb each with lots of detail and appear to have a smoother pixelation when you look closely, not sure how they are doing that but it seems to be quite different to the MkII. Color balance is better as well, less magenta in the skin tones, the CMOS chips were always sensitive to red but they seem to have tamed this.
I shot last week in London for Arena and GQ with it, afterwards I couldn't work my way around the MkII. I also used the Liveview on one difficult low light interior portrait which was very helpful.
Here is a shot from the GQ shoot, a story about French City Traders living and working in London, this guy lives in the cool area of Shoreditch and goes clubbing etc.
I just got a new US agent as well, really hoping to be busy out there this year, I should be shooting for Nokia in LA from the 21st Jan.
