Jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon
It seems as if every year gets more eventful than the last. Here are the top ten events of 2005 (or at least, the top ten events that I was a part of).
1. I was promoted at Target. It was finally nice to be able to live comfortably and not have to worry about paying my rent AND I didn't have to look around for another job.
2. I was dumped for the first time ever. This one took me by suprise, but it wasn't two weeks before he was calling me and wanting to stay in touch. It was interesting to see such an ego blow turn into such an ego boost.
3. I finally admitted to myself that I need to take better care of my body and my mind. I decided to drink less, sleep more, and do things that make me happy, including deciding to go back to school in 2006. After years of abusing myself, I think I'm ready to move on to better things.
4. The great hammer and baseball fight of August '05. I realized that I am a drama magnet, but I love it.
5. Moving to Henderson. While living in the ghetto had it's perks, I can't stress how nice it is to be able to walk to the Blockbuster or the Starbucks, even though they are half a block away. I was tired of police patrols and the sound of shots. I do miss the monorail and the 4 minute drive to work, but I'll get over it.
6. A slew of great concerts (dropkicks, Slightly Stoopid, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the RHCP/Weezer show...etc). Music will keep me young.
7. Visiting my family. It's great to know that they will always be there for me and I am so glad that they know how much I appreciate that fact. I've got a great family, even if we don't always get along.
8. Meeting great new friends via the Internet. While I haven't met any of you SGers in person, I have met several of my MySpacers in person and they are awesome. I am looking forward to making even more new friends.
9. Discovering the wonder of premium vodka and Moet et Chandon. I'm a snob, I can't help it. There is nothing better than a drink made with premium vodka or a glass of champagne by the pool. Ah Vegas! Ah Humanity!
10. Finally moving into the 21st century and getting a DVD player. Yay!
