but this one seems a little more sustainable and thought out than the previous one. It feels great to know that you are moving toward what you think it's the right direction. I'm actually going there by myself for 4 days this Sunday to register for classes at my first year at PSU I'll meet Sper in the meantime too!
Oh, be aware. I'm going to take pictures and to write about the roadtrip experience. If there's a rec around, I'll do some voiceover too. Off to Portland from the East Coast. Here we go!
Many things are going on in my head right now. Among others, films. Let's do some fun comparison that no one will even dare commenting - but weird people prepared to understand the crazy mind that would put together such different movies.
Here's what I saw last:
Now let's be brave and brief here. This movie could have been a 10 (out of 10) if it were Nolan's first movie with unlimited power over the piece. Unfortunately, it wasn't. It gets a 7.5 from me.
Also, I had a 5 hour conversation with someone about Inception first, Hollywood right after, and the alternative scene last. I can develop my 7.5 rating much better, which I probably will once my blog/new website is up in a week and a half . It's going to be in English, so there's no excuse!
Now, this is the movie I saw right before watching Inception:
What can I say about it? This is what I'm talking about when I think about a film that makes me feel like home. A film that's fully perfect for what it is, without the need of pleasing a generic audience that sits in a theater to get entertained and forget routine. It's perfectly fitting cinematography without being actually good in quality. It just makes perfect sense. The acting is especially notable, and the script couldn't be better.
Other than this, I've been reading in Spanish and Catalan again. I seriously do think languages are one of the most amazing subjects of study to understand the world better. The sensation I have while reading a story in Spanish, then again in Catalan and then the same in English is completely different. Once I'm done with English, I'm starting out my self-teaching of Italian. Yay!
Also, I'm translating the script of a documentary shot in Venezuela. The text is terribly bad written, and highly manipulative. It really is ridiculous. I love the complexity of looong sentences in Spanish literature, but when it comes to politics they just avoid getting to the point in a clear way. It's unfair and stupid. But whatever, people believe it. Here's one of the paragraphs to translate:
PS. The words "communitarian", "collaboration", "communal", "poverty", "power" and "people" will appear on the following three pages four times as much. "Communitarian" is their favorite. And not writing pauses (periods, commas, etc.) is one of their favorite things too!
I'm off to edit the pictures of the last shoot I was in. Brooklyn wonders again. I'll post soon!
PS. No naked pictures today, no. Let's see how the number of comments will get affected - Hopefully Sper and I will get some art done this Monday
i saw 4 months 3 weeks 2 days... i still think about it all the time.
