I think with each new piece of information I learn, I lose some old information. For example, I forgot I still have an active account on SG. Hence I haven't posted anything since pre-summer. Maybe that wouldn't have been different because after a day in the life of my job, you can't put together a comprehensive thought, let alone a blog that resembles anything interesting.
I'm currently treating a client who is convinced she is worthy of a full length best selling novel, because she has multiple personalities to rival fiction characters such as Sybil. For the record she has been seen by many shrinks before and not a single one indicated multiple personalities (and according to the DSM-V there is no longer Split personality disorder) and has a very unhealthy obsession with a doctor who treated her 40 years ago and whom she has convinced herself that had the power of persuasion to influence her thoughts. She also had a psuedo affair with him. Despite my best efforts, her age and condition will prevent any true recovery. These are the things we have to accept in this field.
I turned 35 last week and (**wink wink) it doesn't feel any different than 34. The memories don't fade and every birthday since I turned 30, I cry for a few minutes over the man I thought he was.
Hey SG friends...I'm back.....maybe.
