to tired to do a full post...but tomorrow everybody will be filled in on the great dallas group we had the other night and the fun had by all!! now it is time for me to sleep and dream of crows and the men who make them....



thank you mr. O' Barr you will always be in my thoughts for the kind but gruff words of encouragement you gave...

we all started out at the D&B playing some games drinking some adult beverages, having fun but kind of meh....as we were smoking outside preservatives joind us and it seemed like we all started to relax a bit..crymsen told us about the art auction which i found out was for a lady whos house had burned to the ground and she lost everything...so it felt good to support a really good cause....

got to see Scott Kurtz from www.pvponline.com fame....something not surprising though...othere than the fact that he looks lke jabba the hutt is that he is as much a dick as he is fat...you lost a fan last night Kurtz....

besides that bit of ugliness all the other artists were really really cool....there was some extremly nice art coming out of that bar last night...as we were standing around {MEMBER=Allycat_13] tells us that the reverand and horrorpops are playing tonight...in which spaceboy and i let out a long agry moan...he had bought a ticket for it and i really wanted to see them....but the night was going to make it up to me in a HUGE way...

as we are standing at the bar watching spaceboy munch on his burger we are told that James O' Barr is at the first table drawing...my face drops...he is here?!? and he is just sketching at a table?!? so as take off like the flash to go see leaving the rest in my air wake...i come uon the man drawing vampirella and the shadow....just fucking unreal...a guy that you have copied his style and many others so you could develop your own is standing not but 3 feet from me smoking, drinking and sketching away while they play house of pain....now if you dont know who James O' Barr , as we found out that our waitress later that night didnt know, he came up with this www.thecrow.com and here is other fantastic art he has done www.jamesobarr.net...a long time idol and it was just surrel standing there watching him work...the way he stood there and would look at what he was doing...or the way he just used a regular #2 bic pencil...plus it was really good to see him mess up and flip the page over to draw on the back...so after watching him finish that and do another one of ghost..i start to think i really need to rememberthis...so i decided i was going to get him to autograph my drawing arm...to commorate the start of this new artistic life...so after a bit i walk down there and stand behind a fangirl giving him her number...he finishes with her and starts to settle in to his seat, he looks up and sees me standing there so he shifts and asks if he can help me...at this time im saying in my head "dont be a fanboy...dont be a fanboy" so i try to muster as much compsosure as i can make and i tell him i am a huge fan and how much i love his work and i ask him if he wouldnt mind signing my arm....he hesistates and then looks at me then says "your not going to get this tattooed are you?" i say "yes, yes i am" ....i start to get a little worried now...i just expected him to grab my arm write his name and then be done with me...nope he looks at me and says "come out here i want to talk to you.".....my brain went blank....totally fucking blank...James O'Barr just told me he wants to talk to me outside...holy fuck....so i follow him out into the foray and he starts talking about how a time when he was a t a concert with his very good friend trent reznor....some girl comes up and gets trent to sign one tit and he signs the other...some years later at another gig she comes up and shows them the tat's that she had gotten and he said he was just disgusted...i was pretty sure he was just trying to find out if i was a fanboy who in 3 weeks time woudl regret this...but since it took me 7 years to get my first tattoo i dont take those things lightly...i told him how much his art influenced me and how i used to copy his stlye so i could figure out my own...and i wanted the tattoo as a reminder that if he can do it...if he can push himself past all the pain and heartbreak and bullshit that man has been through that i can survive whatever life throws at me...i told him about how i lost my wife and the ensueing divorce and the pain and heartbreak and how fucking scared i was to make this huge leap so late in my life and how i have been using all of that emotional pain and torment to focus it into my art...he kind of smirked and said "yeah that shit tends to do that." then he told he some personal stuff about his life and how he said that just as long as i can see it i can do it...

we talked for about 20-30 minutes and we went back inside he signed my arm i shook his hand and he told me good luck...

then i ran over to everybody and giggled like a schoolgirl LMAO...me and mikey and sillokio left to find the tattoo studio and the rest went just fucking great...

one of the best nights i have had in many many many MANY fucking moons....

now im spent and your tired of reading...so i leave you..refreshed and ready and with inspiration to the brim...

i missed a couple of great bands but i think the night more than made up for it...
