I also saw Bill Eggleston in the Real World, a documentary about Memphis photographer Bill Eggleston. Bill was roundly dismissed by critics of his first major exhibit in the 70's for his pictures of seemingly mundane objects. But he is now hailed as a genius. His pictures document the secret lives of unsung items and unknown people. They tell the story of something just underneath the surface of unobserved reality. They're like pictures of ghosts, and everything is lonely. He is connected with a world that I love.
