Thank you to @rambo @missy @lyxzen for this Blog Homework. So I haven't done a blog homework or a blog in awhile because i've been busy with school but this is one that I've really wanted to do since it started popping up around Facebook so here it goes!
1. Star-Lord: Star-Lord is a character that I have identified with before I even knew who he was. I've just always been like him my entire life. I've always been the type of person who thinks he's this big rebel but truth is I have a big heart who likes to listen to old tunes and dance with my headphones in. I've always been more the type of person to dance down the street with headphones in or sing karaoke than go to a big party. I'm also the type of person who will defend my friends, family, and girlfriend to the ends of the universe and will do anything for the people I love. I started reading the comics after seeing the movie and the dynamic between Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde (his girlfriend) was exactly like my relationships. The way he treats Kitty is the way I've treated my girlfriends and the type of girl Kitty is, is someone I've always dreamed of having. Now while I have his amazing outlaw style personality I also have a bit more of his ego than i'd like to have. I'm a bit of a big shot not gonna lie and I will go above and beyond to impress people ESPECIALLY girls. If a girl I am digging asks me to jump on stage and sing the Pina Colada song I will totally do that to impress her. That also means I can be a bit selfish when it comes to stuff I love and also a bit insecure just like the scene "Hey it's not a purse it's a knapsack" from Guardians lol. I'm also a bit of a misfit just like the Legendary Outlaw.
2. Malcolm Reynolds (Firefly/Serenity). The second one isn't so much personality but experience. I've always related to Mal (it's even my nickname, Mal) because of the experiences he's had in his life. Much like Reynolds I've had a lot of people dump on me and tell me I was worthless. I've been cheated on by women I've loved, kicked around, left, and rejected more times than I could possibly count. I've gone through a few years where I was the most cynical man you could ever met because of situations that happened to me that I won't mention here. I was told by so many people that I would never amount to anything and that "I should try the border planets". I won't mention even half of those experiences but they did make me a stronger person just like Captain Reynolds and while they were hell to go through I wouldn't have it any other way. A lot like Reynolds though I have a strong family and strong friends who love me for who I am. I may not be perfect but I have a great support system that helps me and Serenity keep on flying.
3. Dr. Henry (Indy) Jones Jr. This one is because of my chosen profession but also for experience (it's not the age it's the mileage). For those that read my blogs (when I'm on to write them sorry i'll get back I promise) you know that I work at a History Museum. The reason for that not many know is because i'm an Archaeology student. My story is actually quite similar to Indy's in his family matters and how he got to be an Archaeologist. Now Indy's dad wanted him to be a linguist and study linguistics which he did until he switched over to archaeology. That story is very similar to mine in fact. My family has always wanted me to "get a career" that's their ultimate goal. So they pushed for business which while I like is not my passion. While i'm finishing my Bachelor's in business i'm actually on the side working on getting my archaeology degree. I will finish school with two degrees, a Bachelor's in international business and a Master's in archaeology. I'm pursuing my archaeology degree on my own paycheck when I can afford and with scholarships and the help of the museum. Rather than argue with my family to pursue my dream I have opted to do it on my own just like Dr. Jones. In fact exactly like Dr. Jones my family will have no idea i'm an archaeologist until years after I finish university since I am not pursuing it in their company. These are the 3 characters i see myself in the most.
Thanks again for this blog homework!
