Bruised and sore - With the biggest fucking smile on my face.
1:42am. Tuesday May 8, 2007.
Made it home after going to NIN. All my teeth are still intact, I don't have any broken bones and I'm still buzzing from the rush.
Made it to Riverstage with 1.5hours to spare. Found some fellow SG members and wasted some time. Got to know the wonderful Rach a little better while we waited for the others to arrive.
Finally all the cool kids (Spiral members) were let in and 15 minutes later, the rest of us were herded like cattle through the gates.
I skipped and squealed with delight up the hill.
Saw Jeordie at the sound check and he walked right out in front of me as he was making a getaway. There it was, a chance to say something, and I let it go. "You're a great bass player" is so clich, "I liked you better in dresses" would have made me sound like someone he should possibly avoid. So I said nothing and grinned like a fool instead.
Lots of time was spent bouncing around and talking to people while the support act was on. They ended and made my way to the Pit. Found Regan and Rhian, which was cool. It's always nice to be squished by people you know. Rhian stabbed me with a plastic fork and was being hilarious as usual. That guy cracks me up!
Darkness. Squishing. People shoving left, people pushing right. Elbow in my right breast. Elbow in my left rib. People standing on my toes.
They start. Chaos erupts and I'm on cloud nine. Right then, all the pain stops and all I can hear is the clear sound, all I can see is the bright lights, masses of hands and Jeordie and Trent on stage.
Fucking great as usual.
Highlights:
+ Top Four: Gave Up, Wish, Burn, La Mer.
+ Other awesome tracks include, but are not limited to: Suck, Piggy, The Hand that Feeds, Hurt, Head like a Hole, Closer, March of the Pigs, Eraser and Heresy.
(I'd list the set list, but I'll try and remember it later... right now, I'm too awake and too excited!!!)
+ Working my way to 2nd row. Whatever pain I'm in now, was worth it.
+ Josh Freese and his freaking mad drumming skills.
+ Trent being much more active than the last show at the BEC.
+The venue. I'd heard less than good things about Riverstage, but I really liked it. It gives great viewing from anywhere on the hill.
Lowlights:
- Lack of Encore (although, I'm not surprised).
- Having an earring ripped out.
- Having my dress ripped open down the front and the buttons torn off.
- Not hearing Sin, Somewhat Damaged or The Wretched.
- Lack of a screen for visuals.
I left the pit as 'Only' was about to start. Emerged from the sea of people and danced. I stood in awe as they played 'Hurt' and got Goosebumps. Enjoyed the light show but really thought a screen would have been awesome.
Lights on, show over.
Adrenaline is pumping through every vein I have, and right now - there are no regrets about anything.
Note to self: Next concert do not wear loose fitting pants, or a dress/top that has buttons while attempting to battle the mosh pit. The results are a wardrobe malfunction and people you don't know groping your tits.

Excellent run-down and I agree, except that another highlight for me was hearing Down in it live!!! Awesome.
