to answer my question, i have the flu! 
i thought i was getting better, but my meds ran out two days ago and now i can't sleep because i'm coughing too much. give me pity and attention. now.
so i thought my cat got outside yesterday. she's declawed and has no concept of the outdoors really. so i spent two hours walking around the neighborhood trying to find her. she was asleep in her cat condo thing that she never sleeps in.
my cat is like my child. it's kinda sad that she's all i have to talk about.

Feel better soon!... and I personally think that your cat did get out. But she snuck back in after you went out looking for her. Cats do stuff like that.
