Hey there peeps I hope everyone is good and had an awesome weekend and has a great week ahead. Welcome to a blog I'll be doing more of and that's non modelling stuff. Don't worry I still be doing my modelling ones but I love to write blogs that I want to do. So plently of video game ones, film ones, mental health one and some music ones too. Just whatever I feel like really. I never really plan my blogs. I just write whatever I have in my head and wind it really. I'm not a professional writer or anything, I'm just a guy who does this in his free time and I have plenty of that. That's both a good and bad thing. But I'm not talking about the bad stuff, I'm going to talk about my favourite hobby of all time and that being.....
VIDEO GAMES!!!
Yeah just imagine that in a echoing voice lol.
Yeah it's been too long since I wrote a video game blog for yous awesome beautiful people of SG. Last time was my Resident Evil blog I did around this time last year (And was on Front Page!!) so I am doing more of these blogs as I mentioned in my Why I Was Offline For a While! blog. I got a lot of time to do more blogs often here now since I've deleted my social media fan accounts for personal reasons you'll see in that blog. Tbh I wanted to get back to doing just blogs for ages cause I really don't like social media. But I'm talking about that. I'm talking about my favourite games of the last decade. This is no top ten or in any order. Since I don't do that cause I think my favourites are equals. I can't do a top ten like the youtubers that tbh are all the same. Their all trying too hard to be comedians or be negative/ranty for "comedy" but I hate that you know. So I'm just discussing my favourites and what I love about them. If yous got your own, talk to me about it in the comments. So let's get started.....
Batman Arkham City (2011)
Kicking it off this list is Arkham City. Probably my favourite one out of the whole series. And I enjoy all of them, even Arkham Origins that some ppl didn't like for some odd reason. But that's just me. IMO I think Arkham Knight is the weakest since I hate how they were shoving the batmobile down our throats & I didn't think the story was the best. Even though I enjoy most of it still. Imo Arkham City is the best Batman game ever and I love Batman. Love the open world, the side missions, hidden easter eggs, the story, Joker, the DLCs, the gameplay, etc. It's the best superhero game ever until the next entry came around.....
Spider-Man PS4 (2018)
This was the video game I wanted for ages since Spider-Man 2 on the PS2/Original Xbox era. Remember that one peeps? It was awesome, didn't completed though. This one I did and got a platinum on it on my PS4. And I love to play it again. It was just brilliant. The story, the characters, the gameplay, the villains, the open world and so on. It definitely made you feel like Spider-man and they nailed it to the tee. It was made by Insomniac Games who are known for Spyro, Ratchet & Clark and the very underrated Sunset Overdrive. So I knew it was in good hands cause those guys are bloody awesome. It's definitely a classic and I can't wait for the sequel. Spider-Man in video game form is awesome once again!!
Alan Wake (2010)
I remember my first play-through of this game back when it came out. To this day this is why I believe you should never have exceptions in your mind cause it blinds your mind and you think too harshly on things cause standards are too high and you're never satisfied. That's what happen in my first play-though of this game. I didn't like it but it eat at me inside and it wasn't the last time I hated a game and loved later. I usually do that. I always do come around to change my mind for the better, I hate being critical and hate in general. I do my best to take my time, think things over and realise thing better that way if yous get me. That's what happened when I played it again two years later and realise I fucked up my original opinion on this game. Cause Alan Wake is superb. It took the same style from games like Silent Hill & Max Payne then mixes it with a Stephen King inspired story & supernatural themes of King's books in a Twin Peak style setting. It's awesome and I was soooo wrong the first time. Glad I replayed it and replayed this game so many times now. It's now one of my favourite games ever. Love to see a Sequel. So if yous missed out, check it out on PC & Xbox One. It's pretty cheap but it's brilliant. Also love the soundtrack, probably one of my favourites. I usually listen to this song a lot from this game and it's one of my favourite songs ever...
Mass Effect 2 (2010)
Another game from 2010 for you and it's an all time classic. A personal favourite of mine the Mass Effect trilogy (Andromeda doesn't count since it was so-so imo) I love all the first three. But I pick this one since the first one wasn't released in the 2010's and the third one was brilliant but I think the second one is easily the best one. So much awesome stuff in this game. The story is better, the gameplay was better and the characters was a lot better. I enjoy that you pick and choose what path you want to go down too. Romance whoever you want, if you're wondering I always picked Tali. Tali is my girl lol. There just so much in this game and I love every bit of it. It's a good thing I don't much of a social life since the video game world is a lot better. Mass Effect 2 is prove of it. A lot of content that will last you for a while. This is imo Bioware's best game yet. Shame how far they have fallen these days. I wish this Bioware comes back cause Mass Effect 1, 2 & 3 are masterpieces. Definitely get it peeps!!
Uncharted 3 (2011) and Uncharted 4 (2016)
I can't decide which Uncharted game I love the most since I love all the games in this franchise. Even The Lost Legacy as well, even though it's an stand alone expansion to 4. It's one of my favourites on the Playstation easily. In fact I prefer this over The Last Of Us, now don't get me wrong I do like The Last Of Us but I don't love it like everyone else since it is too depression to playthrough the second time imo. It is an excellent game but it's not my personal favourite of mine cause it is pretty dark. But I love Uncharted, everything about it is my type of game. You know it's a shame ppl ignore 4 in the Games Of The Decade list. I'm like what the hell, it's breathtaking. Everything about Uncharted is awesome. It's like an Indiana Jones TV series come to life in video game form. Just an awesome franchise. Hell even Golden Abyss on the underrated PS Vita was great too. Not a bad game in sight in this franchise. Btw The Nathan Drake Collection is free on PS Plus now so grab it. You'll see what I mean when yous play it yourself if yous haven't already.
Tomb Raider (2013) & Rise Of The Tomb Raider (2015)
Another double nod in this one as well. Why not it's Tomb Raider the reboot games. I didn't include Shadow since their were flaws in that game like I didn't think the story was the best and some dull bits tbh with you, still it is decent. But I prefer these two games, think their both awesome games. Especially the first one. One of the best reboots ever imo. Tomb Raider was back, better than ever. And it was more mature & realistic. Tbh before the reboot, I wasn't the biggest fan of the Tomb Raider games. I find them too cheesy and goofy imo. Luckily they didn't do that for the reboot. It was mature, darker and was brilliantly well made. I actually cared. And I prefer this Lara Croft over the last one. She was a total badarse and I love badarse females, always have. Unless it's Alice from the Resi films then they suck lol. Speaking of reboots, remakes and Resi....
Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019)
If yous are wondering what my favourite game of last year is, it's this masterpiece. Probably the best remake of all time. Now if any of yous read my blogs or talk to me know I'm a fanboy to Resident Evil. The video games, I get offended if ppl go "oh the film series?" I go NOOO the video game franchise you fuckin idiot....I don't btw I'm just kidding haha. Think everyone knows I mean the video game franchise cause it's my favourite. As you see I've written a blog about it which got Front Page for some reason. A non modelling blog front page on a site that shows naked tattoo ladies?! it's possible peeps. My Resi blog is prove. So yeah Resi 1,2 & 3 were my favourite games on the PS1 and still are. Silent Hill 1 is as well but I doubt they'll get a remake in Resi 2 level. This is just an example of how to remake a video game. Respect the old with a new twist to it and they've nailed it to perfection. I can't wait for Resi 3 remake. Unfortunately I can't pre order the collector's edition cause it's all sold out. 😞
Watch Dogs 2 (2016)
Now in this part of the blog I'm going to be talking about games that a lot of people may not have in their list. Games I feel are overlooked or underrated. Watch Dogs 2 is definitely fits in those games nobody talks about. Mostly cause Watch Dogs 1 pissed ppl off, I actually thought it was ok. Not brilliant but not bad either. It was just above average imo. Now Watch Dogs 2 was the total opposite. It was bloody awesome and a lot of fun. It went the way it should've went in the first and that's just have fun with itself & it was. I love the characters, the story, the gameplay and San Francisco was an awesome setting. I just enjoyed the game. Is it the best open world game of all time? no but it's still a very enjoyable game. I think it's underrated but it's not the most underrated open world game, that one goes to....
Sleeping Dogs (2012)
Imo this is the most underrated open world game ever. I love this game, maybe cause I love Chinese action movies that stars Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee or Jet Li. Sucks not many people have played this game. It is so awesome. You feel like a total badass playing it. Many people will favour GTA and I like them as well but again it's not my personal favourite (GTA isn't in my list btw). I prefer other open world games and this one is one of them. Especially since you have a blast fighting guys with your martial arts & the car chases are so cool too. Also I think the story is brilliant and there's a lot of side missions that's pretty cool too. Also the soundtrack is fucking dope. A lot of metal bands. Shame this game is under the radar. It's dead cheap to get on the PS4, Xbox One and PC atm. Remember if yous are going to buy it. Remember to get the Definitive Edition since you get all the DLCs and their great too. So go get it peeps, you'll thank me!!
Titanfall 2 (2016)
Like Watch Dogs 2. this game came from a not so good first game. But 2nd time a charm right. I mean just cause the first game wasn't good doesn't mean the follow up will be bad too. Luckily with Titanfall 2 it wasn't. It was so much better and awesome. The single player was superb, it really was a good one with it being about a solider bonding with it's titan while defeating a big threat. Something the first game didn't had was a single player mode and they did in this one & it was a bloody great one. Multiplayer was a lot better too with tons of modes & free updates to keep yous going if your into online gaming (I ain't btw I'm a single player guy). Unfortunately it's been overlooked due to being released at the wrong time and ppl think it maybe the first game all over again. Must like Watch Dogs 2 as I said earlier. Yous should definitely play this game cause it is cheap. Highly recommend it.
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (2013)
I was debating which AC to put in here. Cause Origins & Odyssey are awesome too and definitely should be played too. But out of all the AC games I've played. Black Flag remains my favourite one out of the bunch. I've been dying for a proper awesome Pirate game for ages and finally got one with Black Flag. It's open world is one of the best I've played, it's gorgeous to just sail and see the Caribbean Seas. Also the naval missions are bloody fun as hell. It really does makes you feel like Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates Of The Caribbean films.......and a bit of @reallifepirate if she WAS a real life pirate lol jk (sorry couldn't resist 😉👍). Jokes aside it is a bloody awesome game and still remains my favourite Assassin's Creed game yet. Also Freedom Cry (The Stand Alone Expansion) is brilliant too. It's just packed.
Persona 5 (2016)
Before this game I wasn't into JRPGs but then again I played Final Fantasy 13 so that was a bad choice to get into JRPGs. Now I am a fan of JRPGs and the Persona series is the one that convince me to be a fan. I wrestle this for a while this part cause I also love Persona 4 Golden on the PS Vita (Seriously how underrated is the PS Vita!!). It was a hard choice but I preferred Persona 5 more. It is a true masterpiece this game and probably the longest game on this list. Over 200 hours of gameplay, that's nuts isn't it? Usually I'll get bored if I play games that long but not Persona 5. I wasn't bored at all. Cause the story, characters, the content, the soundtrack, the anime style design, etc kept me engaging in the game. And yes I'm pre ordering Persona 5 Royal so I'm doing it again. I just love this franchise. I think it's better than Final Fantasy but then again I never fully got into the FF games as the Persona series. I did liked FF 15 btw, even if the story is confusing. Luckily with Persona, the story is probably one of my all time favourites. I just love the characters. I'm such a nerd of this game that I got the Pop figures for it. It is just a pure masterpiece. It's up there with Resident Evil with me. So yeah Persona 5, a true gem!!
Yakuza 0 (2017)
The Yakuza is probably the best video game franchise nobody really knows about. This is why ppl scratch their heads when I say GTA isn't my favourite open world franchise. I always say the Yakuza series cause it's not only brilliant but it is nuts. In a good way. I laugh a lot at some of the side missions you play in this game especially and yous have to play this to get what I mean. Honestly it's mad but in a good way. Besides that the main missions & story is more serious as it tells a bloody awesome crime gangster story about of course the Japanese mafia that is the Yakuza. And I actually don't mind it's not in English (English subtitles though) since the Japanese voice acting is so good. Seriously the Yakuza games are games that's a must play. It'll win you over, everyone who played it has. It's growing in popularity and I think it will be in this decade even more. It's one of the best video game series out there. And Yakuza 0 is the best start to it! 👍
Dying Light (2015)
Yeah I love my zombie games. This is from the team that made Dead Island. Tbh I thought Dead Island was dull and didn't offer much. Luckily that team learned a lot of it's flaws from that game and made this awesome one in Dying Light. It may not have the best story of all time but it's gameplay and how god damn fun it is. Whatever if it's solo or with a friend, it's brilliant. It gets more fun the more you progress. Also it got a lot better with it's free updates and it's The Following expansion. It's a great zombie slasher. Looking forward to number 2!!
Horizon Zero Dawn (2017)
Yeah a lot of PS4 games in this list but it has been a great decade for Playstation tbh. They have the best games imo and Horizon Zero Dawn is more prove that they do. This came out of nowhere. Made by a FPS developer who are known for the Killzone series. This is definitely one of the best newcomers of this decade easily cause Horizon was awesome. Probably one of the better open world games out there. Again open world games are awesome and probably my favourite genre in video games (you noticed? 😁). With games like this, do yous blame me? This game is just beautiful and awesome to explore the world. You get to fight a lot of different Robot Dino types and it's always engaging. Good story too. Aloy is a badass and love to see more from Horizon, a sequel is needed and I think a lot of ppl will agree with me on that one. It is brilliant.
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (2013)
I haven't played much of Breath Of The Wild (that's why it isn't on the list, sorry). And Wind Waker/Twilight Princess HD remasters & A Link's Awakening remake are awesome games too. But out of all the Zeldas I've played this decade, this one on the 3DS is my favourite. It basically took A Link To The Past style and made it a lot better since it's non linear. You can go to any dungeon you want, you're not limited to force to go to a linear path that the Zelda games are usually known for and that's not a bad thing. But with this game, it was refreshing and brilliant. It's probably my favourite game one the 3DS. I love the Zelda series and this game is one of the reasons why.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate (2018)
I do love fighting games but tbh the 2010's has been quite lackluster for the fighting genre imo. Sure Mortal Kombat series has been great but I'm not much of a MK fan tbh. Luckily in Nintendo they give us Super Smash Bros Ultimate and it is probably the best one yet. I love the Super Smash games, been a fan since playing Melee on the GameCube. I love it, so much fun kicking ass as your favourite Nintendo character. But with this one it is sooo packed with many characters to play. I love that it keeps you playing so you unlock all the characters in the game. Also they have tons of modes. My favourite being the World Of Light single player mode. It's so much in here that'll last you. Definitely a must have if yous got a Nintendo Switch, including Breath Of The Wild and this next game.....
Super Mario Odyssey (2017)
Again I was struggling which Mario game to put there since Super Mario Galaxy 2 released in 2010 and that was brilliant too. But I prefer this one. This is probably the most fun I had in a Mario since well Galaxy 2 haha. It is so good. The levels are a blast to play. It's no wonder Mario is still going, as long as it brings us the goods then I don't mind. That's why Mario is still going on strong like a lot of the Nintendo IPs. As long it continues to be good then keep going. Also it's been a great comeback from Nintendo hasn't it? cause ppl were written them off cause the Wii U didn't do well (Even though I liked it). But the Nintendo Switch they are back better than ever and they have so many awesome games on it and this one is one of the best on the Switch.
Life Is Strange (2015)
There's been a lot of Episodic games in the 10's hasn't there. A lot of them hit & miss tbh. I think it was getting a bit overboard and think it's not as good as others think. But luckily here comes Life Is Strange, imo the best one. It was so awesome and beautifully written. I had to include it here. I haven't played Before The Storm or the second one yet. But the first one was a true gem. I enjoyed the story, the characters and how every choice you make plays out. You're interested on where it was going and you just have to keep going. That's why I always wait when the complete game is out with Episodic games. Cause I can't wait lol. It is brilliant. Definitely check this game out if your into narrative driven games. It maybe not for everyone but if you do love narrative driven games like me then this game is for you!!
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017)
Yeah another Resi game in this list, well yes. Told yous I was a Resi fanboy. Don't worry I'm not including Resident Evil 6, Operation Raccoon City or Umbrella Corps here cause I'm not insane, they were just as awful as those bloody movies lol. Yeah in the start of the 2010's it wasn't a good time being a Resi fan like me. Since they were going in this action COD style and tbh I hated it. So did everyone else so luckily they realise that they need to go back to their horror roots (why in the hell did they leave in the first place) and they did with flying colours with number 7. Resi was awesome again and this game & the rerelease of the Resi 1 remake was the sign that their back. It was the first time that Resi was in First Person and it really added to the horror. Reminded me of Outlast (Another great horror game btw) but I think they did it better since it was so scary. Especially on PS VR, but it was so awesome. I was so happy with it. Resi like Nintendo made a comeback and got this game to thank. Never leave horror again Resi!!
Control (2019)
From the same makers of Alan Wake we got this awesome game with a smart complex story. It kinda reminded me of Fringe & The X Flies a bit. It's a Sci Fi Thriller with complex story driven but it has so much awesome gameplay that's challenging but awesome at the same time. I usually hate hard games, and yes I'll go as far as to say I don't like Dark Souls (Don't @ me) I hate games that are ridiculously hard you know. But I do like a challenge and this game has the right balance. Another game that I've 100% on my PS4. It is just brilliant this game. Definitely give it a go. I'm looking forward to the expansions now!!
The Outer Worlds (2019)
This is yet another one I was debating which one I love the most. Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas or The Outer Worlds. Since I love all three games. But tbh I love The Outer Worlds more since it wasn't buggy lol. But also I prefer the story, characters and it's setting more. Since I'm a Sci Fi guy so this game is up my alley. Imo this is the best Fallout game and it's not even Fallout. Probably for the best cause it has been rubbish thanks to Fallout 76. Honestly what is wrong with Bethesda these days? anyway luckily The Outer Worlds was the anti depressants that disappointed Fallout fans needed. Imo a start to a potential franchise. It's such a brilliant game that I highly recommend. Give it a go peeps!!
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015)
Last but not least in my favourite games of the 2010's is probably the best one imo. And that's saying something if you see the games above me. But come on this game is a true masterpiece. Probably the best story in video game history and I love all the characters in the game. Hell you'll see from the sets in this site that it's been cosplayed more than Harley Quinn lol. I think everyone agrees that this game is brilliant. In fact I'm playing the Nintendo Switch verison of this atm. Still brilliant. Geralt is the best, Ciri is awesome, Yennifer is brilliant, the open world is brilliant, Gwent is brilliant, the Witcher contracts is brilliant, so on and so on. Did i mention it's brilliant. Yeah I think so haha. What else can I say about it that hasn't been said about it. It's a masterpiece. A must have. Also the Netflix TV series is awesome too, Henry Cavill is brilliant as Geralt. Give that one a watch too.
The Conclusion
So yeah that's my personal favourite video games of the 2010's. I had a lot of fun doing this blog. Love to do more blogs like this and I think I will. Like I said the modelling ones are still happening still. Still going to do my Appreciation & Hopeful Highlight ones. And of course my FSS blog series too. But I love to mix it up with non model ones like this since I do enjoy writing about this stuff. I'm a nerd at heart and I want to give my best to those blogs. If you enjoyed this blog, would yous like me to do a best films of the 2010's one as well? Let me know in the comments below as well as your favourite games of the 2010's.
Anyway peeps thank you very much for checking this blog out. Yous are the best. Remember this is my personal opinions on this blog and all of my blogs, take it with a grain of salt. Whatever works for you, I'm happy you enjoy something I don't. When it comes to video games, music, films, etc. There is no right or wrong opinion. It's what you like. Just don't be an asshole about it, simple as that but I don't need to say that to yous since you guys are the best. We are basically all positive ppl and that's pretty dope.
Anyway thank you once again peeps. Til the next blog this is KungFury saying take care, much love and please do give all these games a play. You will thank me, oh yes you will thank me!! 😂😉👍
