I just had an amusing experience the other day. I take martial arts lessons from a older black muslim gentleman. This past monday his best friend, who also happened to be a martial arts instructor(and a black muslim as well), was there with him. This was like looking into a wierd mirror (of sorts). All of the sudden, it was like I was looking into the future, of myself, and my best friend. personality, and repoire, mannerisms. It was very weird, but pleasantly amusing. My own best friend and I have been best friends since kindergarden, and over the past 15 years or so, we've both been studying different styles of martial arts, and wish to incorporate this into our futures. It just made me laugh, and appreciate the beauty of life, and friendship. Like I said, it was eerie, and pleasant, even down to like style and jewlery. I could easily see myself, and my best freind like that in 20 years, or so. No particular point to this post, I'm just enjoying one of the occassional sense of appreciation, and comfort life can give you. Especially when things often go so bad. Sometimes the smallest things can give our lives the opportunity for depth.

Merry Christmas to you too!!! sorry about not replying sooner, i was taken to a little cabin in the woods for the christmas weekend... i hope your went really well! smile

and i agree completely... the little things... the seemingly insignificant things that if you don't take the time to notice them, you'll miss them. its those very same "little things" that end up having the mose profound influences on me... because its not something that you're looking for necessarily, it just happens, for some reason, at that exact point in time.. you take notice of your surroundings and it leaves a lasting impression! smile

It's that time of year for reflections (so to speak), isn't it? I personally am putting off some much needed reflection by answering all the comments I ignored while frantically writing my thesis. I hope the new year brings you all the best. Talk soon
