Mmmm....
The sigh of contentment. Thats all I have to say about this evening. Well, not really, but it best expresses how I feel right about now.
Mmmm....
So, the basis for my happy sigh lies rooted in a conversation I had with cute shopper boy on monday. We were having the normal checkout chitchat, and i happened to mention the music i'd seen while in portland. He asked if there was any good music in town, and i suggested he come to this evenings show at platinum. He said something about coming to the show and skipping out on his plans for the coast. Dopey crushy girl that i am, this rendered my giddy for nigh and hour. Flash forward to today. I'm feeling stoked, i'm going out with my friends, the boy is going to be there, its going to be great. So when he comes in today, he asks me what time the show starts, and says he may be there. Great, he may be there. Grrr. So i focus on the fact that i'm going to be out with my friends listening to some good new music. I manage to make it to the end of my shift (I swear, i had absolutely no motivation to work today) and one of my lovely friends swoops by and hauls me off to the show. Microcosm had already started when we got there. They were laying down some kinetic experimental funk rockgrooves. The lead singer is a co-worker of mine, and he has this amazing energetic delivery. Another co-worker stood in and played flute for a song. The guitarist/violinist is a friend, and i didn't realize he was such a rock god. It was really sweet. Slie finally made it, with two songs left in the band's too-short set. After going up to thank our melodious friends and such, we gathered by the water and conversed while Whet Dawg set up. At some point i happened to glance over to the entrance and notice a familiar red hat coming down the stairs. (I'm beginning to think i have radar, because i swear i'm directed right towards him whenever he shows up.) I flagged him over and said hi. I also got to learn his name. (I kinda knew it already, privelige of carding people.) So i introduced him to my friends, and we made a few attempts at small talk before the band started playing and we were able to just chill. One of my friends came over and found us, and dragged us up to our table by the front. Live music is so awesome, you can sit next to someone and just chill without saying anything. It was great, I was finally able to relax around him. Slowly but surely my friends left, until it was just Rob and I. We ended up getting free cd's from the band. After the show, he walked me home. (all together now: Awww!!!) We talked about the music, hometowns (he's from Pennsylvania amish country), travel, the Science Olympiad (I finally found another participant!!!), and other generally nerdy things. Swoon! When we got to my house, he thanked me for finally getting him to come out. We agreed to do it again sometime, and parted ways. No kiss, but it was almost sweeter that way. I swear, i'm so awash with squishy girly feelings right now i could hurl. I had a great time.
Mmmm....
In other news, I'm headed back to portland this friday to see Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation festival. That should be quite fun. I'm sure i had more to add, but my computer crashed and i had to rewrite this whole thing, so now i just want to go sleep and dream of my cute shopper boy. Its sick, i know, but i can't seem to shake the warm fuzzies he gives me, so I guess i've gotta keep going after him.
Mmmm....

3) have you been to this page? if not, i highly recommend it. it provided me with minutes of pointless laughter.
Wow, goths are dumb. But in an amusing, hot sort of way.
4)Choose now, monkey or ferret?
Uh, MONKEY! No, FERRET! Actually, yeah, ferret, i saw a guy skating on 9th street last year wo had a ferret riding in the hood of his jacket, it was just too cute....
