Just got back from 6 days in Eugene Oregon
my time in eugene was indescribable:
saw the most beautiful saturated colors everywhere
scarlet reds and rain soaked evergreens
the rain was intense and i think i possibly froze more than once
but damn it was worth every second.
saw a vast ocean and felt an inquinchable thirst
i'd never seen my name in the sand before
but could definitely get used to seeing it there more often
i also developed a need for a big dog that will chase seagulls into freezing
cold water with no sense of fear
i want to watch you paint near that beach.
saw lots of lil critters including some deceased deer
but the trio of raccoons in the bushes made up for that
i really wanted to see the kittens play but there will be more times and places
got three new piercings or re-piercings i should say and no "blown out scar tissue"
had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people last week
who accomplished to make me feel at home
even though the only home i've ever known was 800 miles south
got to smoke cigarettes on the porch of the ghost monkey kitten house
which was surreal.
met a boy that i'm feverishly proud of
didn't expect to fall in love but it happened
over sushi on a friday night
i'd forgotten what this feels like and damn its a good feeling
thank you.
cried a little while i was there
but laughed a whole lot more
i've got something to look forward to
in a couple months all this will be okay
this waiting will have been worthwhile.
