During the last week of June, I took a trip with family to visit Washington State. It was such a necessary trip to cleanse & recharge my complete being. Initially, I was anxious to go for various reasons but my spirit felt soothed as soon as I breathed in that PNW air & took in the landscape. Words enough can't describe how much I love that region of the country.
My family lived in the Puget Sound area during the mid-90s. I can only remember it being the happiest of my childhood memories, & all the surrounding nature had a lot to do with it. I loved being outside, even in the crazy winter months. Everything we did just had this sense of adventure. That magic hasn't died & I feel it still with every visit.
During the middle of the trip, we spent a couple days out in the Olympic Peninsula to do some hiking & take in Earth porn. We caught some rain, but being a pluviophile I thought it added to the scenery visually & audibly. I could spend a whole week out there & not have my fill of all the flora & fauna. Enjoy some of my favorite shots; although, there is no justice done with what's captured here.
The wood elf within me felt at home. 🌿🖤 I'd really love to visit during the winter, maybe for my birthday week in January. We'll see. I dream until the day we meet again.
