Week of 12/6 What are your favorite holiday (cultural) traditions? We would love to hear about your family recipes, celebrations & anything you want to share that best represents yourself and your culture :
When I read this, the first thing I think of that’s really a tradition in my family is every year for Christmas my mom makes what is called marshmallow salad, it’s a recipe from her mom that she plans to pass down, it’s mini marshmallows, cream cheese, pineapple, and I believe cool whip? I know it sounds odd but it’s literally the yummiest thing ever, it’s not too sweet and the pineapple gives a nice sour balance. My favorite thing every year along with homemade fudge.
I am the main decorator in the house, but every year we do two trees, one is normally a “free for all” tree without a specific theme, but the other has a different theme every year. This year we did a ton of fuzzy animal ornaments and wilderness decor and it’s super cute. I’m not done decorating yet, but I’ll post pics when I am :)
I don’t necessarily think we do anything culturally specific, but just things that we have done ever since I can remember. Like the Christmas countdown calendar from Avon my mom got when she used to sell Avon years ago, it’s not Christmas time until I get it out of the attic haha
