What are the reasons? That foolish "friend" from your previous post? Certainly doesn't sound like a good reason to me. It's rarely a good idea to change oneself to satisfy others.
But if you have a self image reason for wanting to lose weight, that might be worth making a change. I would argue for forgetting entirely about weight and consider overall fitness level. Are you currently at a healthy fitness level? If yes, simply maintain that. If no, get healthy. Forget about weight; it's nearly a useless metric.
