I don't hate "the holidays" (i.e. Christmas and all the other ones competing). I like the old TV shows, and ornaments. I've had less fun as I get older and worry about what to get other adults; in that regard, I think it is more of a holiday time for kids. I think it is best for kids receiving gifts from adults, since kids are poor. This is why buying donation toys is my most satisfying purchase of the season. I've also given money to Toys for Tots, and they've indundated me with letters again!... but I think I'd prefer toy donation to money donation.

He was just too sick, and I had to take him to the vet. well, he had cancer and he was old...and the vet said at the most we might be able to four more months. It would be expensive though, and she couldn't guarantee...

I gave a dude $10 in a parking lot cuz he said he was homeless, bipolar, and needed lithium. I normally don't brag about these things cuz it's unseemly, but you had asked if we did stuff for folks! Also, I took pics at the Arlington Arts Center and put $5 in their donations, cuz I figured if I was compelled to come back & take photos they deserved it. (The Kreeger Museum in DC has a mandatory $8 charge; it's kinda small, but... I guess it's worth it too. I mean, they have a Beckmann, Van Gogh, Picasso, Delvaux, and so on.)

I like to be nice, but it's hard- people around here (everywhere?) are all aggressive and inyourface. You have to temper nice with "fuck off" a bit, sometimes.
