Hey there kids.
I thought I'd post as a way to occupy my brains whilst I'm stuck in Gloucester helping my parents move house.
This week has been a mixed bag.
We finally went to Foundry's home studio to lay down some An Axe tunes. We did three and they went ruddy bloody well. Ship came out supercharged but still sounding justice and Island and Madamoiselle sound more sinister and brooding with piano on them than I had thought they would when Zamuzel and I demoed them on a blunt four track!
I'm actually very very very excited for the whole thing now. I haven't had to sing using my real voice ever before in a band situation (Capuchin Or Kitano doesn't count. That's a primal feral roar right there!) and I was a bit unsure of how it would come across, but I love the way An Axe has turned out!
I'll give you the Myspace link, but if you go there you must remember that it's real blunt, unmixed stuff. To be replaced when it's all been fine tuned by Mr Foundry.
Go here.
In other news, this is the first weekend since theknives and I met that I haven't seen her. She's in France teaching their kids up to the brim.
It's a bit odd to be honest. I'm so very proud of her for doing something as daunting as this, but I can't wait for her to come back. I think we're gonna try and go away for my birthday when she's back en engleterre.
I bought a shirt and waistcoat today so that I can start my new job looking like Marcel from Belle Du Jour.
Yes I really do think of these things.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try and get sneakily drunk on Peterman Artois and wine without my folks noticing. Yes, I'm nearly 28 (COinlessthanamonthUGH!) but I still feel the need to cover it all up when they're around.
AND seeing my friends happy makes me happy. Congratulations again you two! (You know who you are!)
