gah!
i hate it when i dismiss a band, become curious & then buy the cd only to find that they've been freakin' awesome from the start and i've been far too judgemental.
but i kind of love it too. because being surprised by music is one of lifes greatest pleasures.
in this case, the odds were stacked against them quite heavily...shite name, OVER coverage in the NME (when did they merge with Smash Hits?!) and too many mentions in the same breath as, say, Maximo Park, The Rakes and the rest of those bands who make me do an aural double take just to make sure that my ears are deceiving me and Pulp haven't actually released a new album.
"who? who?! tell us your opinions on popular culture mr. kristoph!"
Test/icicles dear children. Test/icicles.
top fucking banana and no mistake!
in this case do believe the hype, but don't listen to what they're saying.
exciting AND english. what more do you want?
....EW! you're gross!
xx
