I'm currently approaching the end of Good Morning, Midnight by Jean Rhys, and for once I don't have half-a-dozen books competing for my attention next. That's thanks to @colombia, who suggested I pick up Anaïs Nin's Henry and June. It's an account taken from Nin's diaries detailing her passionate love affair with Henry Miller and his wife, June Mansfield. I love having books recommended to me, and discovering what other people look for in their reading material, so needless to say I can't wait to get started on this!

Every time I suggest a book to someone, I get a nervous feeling in my stomach wondering if they are going to enjoy it as much as I have. It's almost like I'm exposing a part of myself and waiting for judgement. I'm strange when it comes to books. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh I know what you mean - I'll encourage someone to read a book or watch a film I really love, and when they do I'll panic that they won't like it, that they'll pick holes in it or find flaws that I hadn't thought of before. But I trust your judgement on Henry and June, and I look forward to reading it and sharing my thoughts.
