So.. James tried to be the nice guy and let me use a spare stick of 512mb of memory. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true. It either fried my motherboard or fried my processor. In any case, I am the PC hardware master and reinstalled a new motherboard and processor ALL BY MYSELF and it worked on the first try. I rule. The end.
I have a gig of memory in the mail on its way. I'm excited. Much improvement to my 384mb of ram. So many games to play, and so much smoother they soon will be.

Ugh that happened to me on this thing when it was only a few weeks old. Got mine professionally fixed tho cuz I suck. Fair play to you for DIY. I don't think I'd have the patience for that. I use all my patience with my students so I don't have it for anything else. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Cellar door
