Hii guys!
So let’s just dive right into it .. here’s my first sg blog homework!
The question this week was “ What's the best gift you've EVER received? “
I kept thinking and thinking with nothing coming to mind .. till it hit me like a train.
The best gift I’ve EVER received isn’t something material like a toy or a sweater but rather a passion that was given to me by my grandmother.
She was the one who took care of me when I was a wee one since my parent’s were always working long hours, I can remember it just like it was yesterday.
I was lucky that my grand parents lived right across the street, every morning my dad would wrap me in a blanket at 5 am and cary me half asleep across the street to go put me in my grandmothers bed where she’s just sing me back to sleep for a few hours.
She was a wonderful woman, beautiful, an amazing cook, a great seamstress but the important one here .. an artist.
She was not Michelangelo or Van Gogh but rather the arts & craft church lady but that was more than enough to give me the thirst for art, she’d always drag me to the church “bazaar” ( arts and craft fair to raise money for the church groups ) and I’d be seeing all the beautiful thing that everyone was making with their own hands.
I was like a kid in a candy store , i just wanted to know how everything was done and where their inspiration was coming from ..
As a result I started drawing , sculpting, painting and of course arts & crafting on the daily with my grandmother, going from making lil wool pom-pom to now studying fine art and having everyone know my name at the national gallery since I’m basically a piece of furniture in there.
I will forever be grateful for everything that you’ve done for me and for the women you molded me into.
So thank you.. Thank you for giving me the greatest gift anyone could’ve EVER give me, the passion for art.
That’s all for me folks, hope you enjoyed this lil bit about me.
Love,
Krisalyne 💕
