Ok, so the new Norma Jean album came out on March 1st........and nobody told me. Nothing about it on the SG newswire nore in the hardcore discussion group. What the fuck?
Well in any event I just got back from picking it up at the record store and it fucking kills. It's more straightforward and a little less spastic than their highly impressive debut, but it's still satisfying.
This is a Christian band by the way, but you'd never guess from hearing them. When I listen to Norma Jean, I think of blood spalltered all over concrete walls. They sound just as twisted as they are brutal.
Also, they have maintained their rep for coming up with zany song titles. These are songs off the new album:
1.Murderotica (An Avalanche In D Minor)
2.Vertebraille (Choke That Thief Called Dependence)
3.Bayonetwork (Vultures In Vivid Color)
4.Dilemmachine (Caolition; Hoax)
5.Coffinspire (Multitiudes, Multitudes In The Valley Of Decision!)
6.Liarsenic (Creating A Universe of Discourse)
7.Disconnecktie (The Faithful Vampire)
8.Absentimental (Street Calm)
9.Charactarantula (Talking To You And The Intake of Glass)
10.Pretendeavor (In Reference To A Sinking Ship)
11.Scientifiction (1. A Clot of Tragedy; II. A Swarm Of Dedication)
While down at the store I also picked up the first album by The Sheila Divine. It was playing in the store saw them live once opening for Dave Navarro. One of those bands that I really like but don't end up getting their material until after they break up. Oh well.
Have you ever gone to a records store, heard what they were playing, and bought whatever it was? This is the first time that I have.

I've actually never done that. I don't know why. Probably cause every time I'm out of the house I have my headphones on anyway
