Ok wow. Last night's recording session went amazingly well. From about 6:45 to 9:15 we recorded 12 songs! Only one of them required three takes, while the rest only reqired one or two. This choir only started this past September, and they are so well-rehearsed and tight it's amazing.
We did all the songs that required piano. I'm going to send rough mixes to the director to see if he's happy with the takes. If he is, then all we have to do is about 3 or 5 songs with an organ. After that, I just have to mix and burn to CD. They have a show lined up for May 15th and are interested in recording that as well.
Today at work it was announced that one of the stockroom guys was promoted to be a manager at different store. So far, no news as to who is going to take his place. A month ago or so, I would've been scrambling to get the position; but now that I'm finally getting into my field, the few hours of work a week I get seem very convenient; I get to come home, do my workouts, get on my comp, start up Pro Tools and work my way into my field. I may not have much money for recreation as I used to, but that's ok. I still have my SG membership.
Well, ok that's not the only thing I do for fun. But still, with the tight budget I'm on, membership for this site is the only recreational activity I spend money for on a regular basis. The rest is the occasional CD and book shopping, renting DVD's, and going out with friends to the arcade and dinner, etc.
However, when the budget for fun is low, it's nice to have this site to interact with people. I'm an introvert who doesn't get out much, so I don't really see cancelling my membership here as an option unless I'm flat out broke beyond broke. And besides, like MisterSatan always says to the newcomers, "Welcome to your new addiction".
In closing, everyone go check out Akira_Li's latest entry. What can I say? I'm a bad influence.

out of all the addictions to have, I've got to say SG has got to be one of the more mild ones..I too suffer from SG addiction, though in my case I will never have to leave, they let me stay here forever just as long as I keep taking off my clothes...though I think I got the better end of the deal.
