Awwwwwww YEAH!
Right now I am very happy, for I have purchased, hooked up, and installed this lovely piece o' 'chinery righ heyah.
I have been asked by a friend of the family to record a choir to make a full length CD. No money in it for me (cuz they have none) but still it gets my name out on the field on the back of a CD with a fancy shmancy "recorded/produced/mixed/mastered by" in front of it.
It will also be lots of fun of course.
As practice to get aquianted with the system I'm going to be making lots of practice home recordings. I've been itching to create stuff so I might make a spoken word CD along with some music in the background on some tracks. I'm thinking I might also include readings from my true stories. Who knows?
The first day of recording is on the 26th. As it looks, I might have to lug my whole comp, rack, and speakers on over there. It'll be a pain in the ass but I've dealt with worse. When I was in a band back in NY we lugged gear back and forth between my friends house and the shed in our drummers back yard all the time. For a show at our community college for some festival we loaded, guitars, amps, a drumkit, mic stands, and four band members into my car and the drummers car. Mind you, we both owned Ford Mustangs. When I tell people about all that shit we made fit they don't believe me, but it's true.
There's nothing like difficult scenarios like that to make sure you keep your head clear, stop whining, and not be such a DRAMA QUEEN!
In other news, another true story is in the works, but will most likely take a while. Especially nowadays since it is my intention to go play with Pro-Tools LE 6.2.2 for several hours.
