Thanks to everyone for their advice.
I submitted an application at Newbury Comics the other day. On Monday, I'll call up the hiring manager and keep checkin' up on what's going on. I know nowadays you have to call the place up after applying to make it clear you really want the job, but
I don't wanna be pushy and piss them off. I figure Monday would be a good time to call up.
Now, as far as my current job goes..........
I'm in the stockroom. I really don't minde all the lifting and moving around of heavy objects and putting alarm tags on clothes etc. However, two things I don't like are doing the garbage and cleaning bathrooms. I'll only have to do bathrooms on Tuesday nights, but STILL I wouldn't mind gathering up all the trash from all the Service Centers and Express Checkouts etc. The problem is that there is SO MANY OF THEM! I don't give a fuck what people say about this store, it's fuckin' huge. Not only that, but the way things are laid out, it's really easy for me to lose track of where I left off when picking garbage or collecting hangers.
Also, EVERYONE everywhere is obsessed with Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee. I don't drink coffee in any form, but if I did, I'd lose my appetite for Iced Coffee after smelling spoiled coffee in the trash pins and in the compactor. It's fuckin' nasty.
Here's another thing, oftentimes there are droplets of urine on the toilet seats in the Ladies Room. That's right, the LADIES ROOM! I can understand the men's room, cuz you have small-dick idiots who can't aim straight or even lift the seat, but in the ladies room? WTF? We keep those bathrooms clean, they don't look anythiing like the ones in fast food places. There are more toilets in the ladies room that in the mens room, so if one stall looks nasty, use another one!
Ok before I toss my cookies, lets talk aboout something else....
I downloaded a Super Nintendo emulator for my new comp. I've been playing FInal Fantasy III once again! I love this game so much.
I'm up to the point in the game where the evil Kefka has amounted so much magicite that a huge chunk of earth has broken off and become a floating continent in the sky. Next time I play, I'll buy some better weapons, armor, and supplies, and bring my characters up to an experience of level of at least 30 or so, then pile up in the airship and go whip some ass!
Getting back to the subject of jobs, Dannyboy made a good point: if I keep this job, I will make more money and be close to home, BUT I'll end up becoming bitter and miserable. He's right.
Also, I NEED to have a nightlife. In recent years, I've become much more of a social person, and I feel the need to hang out with friends and get out of the house more often. Furthermore, I need to go to shows and interact with people, and hopefully even get a band started.
That's all for tonight folks. I'm not as tired as I was last night, work was not so bad today, but I'm still pretty wiped. Thank you all for the advice and support.
