Experienced some very, VERY new things last night. Re-experienced moments of mental deterioration.
I wrote most of what I was feeling down into a journal my boyfriend's brother gave me for Christmas. I haven't looked back to see what I wrote, and honestly - I'm quite afraid to. I know that it's interesting, but I almost don't want to relive what I was thinking and going through last night.
But alas - I remember one specific thing I wrote: "You'll feel better in the morning." And that did hold true somewhat. I've been in a daze all day. Groggy. Out-of-it. Seth and I did stop by the theater to see Black Swan. It was absolutely. fucking. brilliant. It matched up a lot with what I was debating and pondering about last night which I found to be pleasingly extraordinary. I always find the struggle between good and evil in an individual to be quite fascinating, too. I connected with the film on many different levels, and by the end - I was shaking with awe and amazement. The movie seemed a bit redundant for about 3/4 of the way through, but I feel I know exactly why they chose to be that way. You could feel Nina's frustration to be the black swan her director wanted her to be. And? Well... I'm not going to give anything away, but the ending shook me to the core.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year. 2010 is ending on a surprising and almost unnerving note. It's a good thing though. No idea what 2011 will bring except for a 24th birthday.
Take care.
