So 3 days in to my free jaunt here in SG World and my first impressions are that the whole place seems a hell of a lot 'quiter' than when I was last here....Now that could just be me...I am not in a huge number of groups but the ones I choose to participate in do seem much less busy...I wonder are there Less people here in general??...Is That why I got a free activation??...SG losing members fast??
Who knows....still I am here now and whilst it is a little weird dropping back into a space that I chose to leave there is something familiar and pleasing about the site.
Will I stay??...I have been reminded how cheap it is to be here, which is true but I also had genuine reasons for moving on....namely cutting back on internet time and doing mmore stuff 'out there'
Along with SG I stopped using Flickr and just maintained my Deviant Acount so I was successful in clawing back some 'me' time......after using DA and Flickr for some time I find that they lack the sense of community that this place had provided...Maybe I should have dumped Flickr/DA and stayed here????
I am still seeking a balance...I like online communication ......it suits me but I am aware that over the last number of years my propensity for sitting and typing at a pc screen has meant I was out less doing 'physical' things and consequently I am not as fit as I was.....I feel that this coming year is a threshold year for me...get more fit or face a longer term struggle.....next year the last of our brood will most likely follwo in his two siosters footsteps and fly the nest leaving mrs kpan and myself to ponder life beyond family...I want to be phyically prepared for this next phase of our lives but I am an incurable lazy-ass!!! If I could get fit by being on the internet life would be sweet
So I will continue to bimble here for my alloted free time and then see...anything is possible and I am in no way decided about staying or not as yet.
Over the time I was away I shot a lot less film as I was really focused on my music and keeping my workshop business alive in these harsh economic climes. I also stopped shooting with models because although mrs kpan had been incredibly supportive of my work I could tell deep down it made her uncomfortable...we taalked...she confirmed my beliefs and so I stopped because I love her. It may be something I go back to but only if I am sure she is in a happy place with it all.Here are a couple of shots from the last shoots I did.
Where possible I did manage to do a little outdoor shooting too both people and places.

It was a rough first year because I was with him 6 days a week. My wife was getting her private practice going, so she was working about 60 hours a week. It's calmed down a bit lately, so I can enjoy him a bit more. He's a fun addition.
He's already joined the military.
