My real advice, if I could offer up just ONE thing, would be to monitor your weight closely. Weigh yourself EVERY DAY at the same time. If you gain afew pounds, go on a diet immediately & get those few pounds off (unless, of course, it is normal for you to gain afew during certain times of the month, ladies. Just know your body). It usually only takes afew days to get afew pounds off, so why not?
Don't put these things off. Don't be in denial. Don't use excuses. I don't care if you are skinny. I don't care if you have always been that way naturally. Just DO IT. NOW!
Because, damn, those pounds can just sneak up on you if you don't monitor yourself closely. And then you will have to try to lose 100 pounds over the course of years instead of just 3 or 4 over afew days.
I am down 70 pounds as of right now. I am happy with my weight. For now at least. Maintaining it has been pretty easy so far.
I don't know much about much. But trust me on this.

It's really not necessary or healthy to try to correct every little weight gain, please don't do that.
