In a follow-up to my unusual burst of activity I have run 13.8 miles since Monday. I am feeling great. I am not a runner, I am in a group called Clydesdale runners which is for people over 220 pounds. I can run for a while, lose a significant amount of weight and still qualify. But i feel great. I have started doing yoga stretches to offset the horror I am feeling after I run. Which seems to be working. I am actually looking forward to my runs these days and I am really amazed at whatever it was that lit this fire under the old ass.
On a more aquatic front I have been doing an incredible amount of sailing. I have been out almost every day, at least five or six days a week. The resultant sunburn is past the red phase and moving into a second degree burn at this point. It actually isn't that bad. I am good about sunscreen and I wear long sleeved shirts most of the time. I wish there was a way for me to talk about how much I love water and the sailing. It is just... heaven for me. When I get off the water and sit on my couch I can still feel the motion of the boat. I am about this close (no imagine I am holding up my finger and thumb about an inch apart) from doing some serious boat shopping this winter. One day if I ever write that Great American Novel, I would love to sail around the world and write about that experience.
I might start working on something about an experience I just had on the water over the last couple of days.
I am listening to an album called Look at Life Again Soon by The Ettes. Awesome stuff.
Still chugging away on The Cave. But I made huge progress this weekend.
