Just when i was seriously thinking about leaving this site....it pulls me back in with the design. Such a sucker for design.
The title of this blog is: Old Things.
Unfailingly, all my life, I've been slave to my eternal nostalgia for things that I've never experienced. Like Star Wars, which I was too young to remember. Old Alfred Hitchcock movies. Dick Tracy comics.
Lately, I've re-realized that some of the newest shit is really old.
Like old 1930s - 40s radio shows, like Dragnet and the Mercury Theater. Just awesome stuff. Perfect to listen to at work.
Lately I also found a copy of Deep Throat at a local DVD store -- in a country mind you where pornography is severely punished. Everyone always talks about the blowjobs. What I was startled to learn was that there's ANAL SEX in it too. Totally casually. Double penetration. I always thought that was an invention of the late 90s. How come Nixon's rat didn't get named Double Penetration?
Some other old stuff has been good to me lately. Besides the old ladies who massage my naked body every morning and night. I forget.
Oh yeah....the bestest of the best. Old Shanghai cartoons from the late 70s and early 80s. A lost art that will never return. Modern Chinese cartoons suck. Bad rip offs of US and Japanese cartoons, with none of the goodness of either.
All cartoons have a great trippy and abstract quality to them. The clouds are flaming pink, shimmery purple, and stand in strage Jackson Pollock blobs against the solid phallic green mountains. But best of all there is an innocence to them, a sense of slow childhood time that lasts forever.
When I was young, I had picture books scrapped from the stills of these movies. Not that I knew that. Then a few years ago those old childhood dreams were reborn into moving jumping dancing prancing images.
This is all I can find for now....too tired...
hugs all.

keep up the writing! I'll try and do the same.
Those sad pandas are adorable, they look much better than me with black eyeshadow and runny make up from crying.
