blech. my birthday week begins with a sore wrist -> carpal tunnel syndrome-> sick leave. being off work is rather nice for a change, but not being able to draw, write, sew, knit, you know, the things i normally do at home, that sucks big time. i don't know if i'm allowed to kickbox tomorrow. i've been reading a book about journaling and drawing and creativity and crying inside myself for the irony of it all. today i will go to donate blood again, i go every three months, which is as often as it's allowed. i'm type O positive, so my blood is suitable for many people and they actually call me to ask if i could come and donate. it feels good to do good for other people. and for animals, too; i spent last saturday making canvas bags for an animal rescue organisation, they sell those bags at happenings and use the money to take care of stray animals.

and hey, to those who wonder, the russian/siberian trip is a GOOD thing. it's not like i'm deported to siberia, i'm going there because i WANT to. my family line is from russia and i'm eager to see the country. just like any other traveling destination. i'm a bit sad when people ask me "WHY do you want to go THERE?" (as if they knew what's russia like, ha!). why do people want to travel? it's want i want from life. experiences. different ways to see, feel, taste things.
