for once, could i just have a flu without any secondary sicknesses? i'm doomed to have at least a sinusitis. i'm trying to take care of it without antibiotics, that means hot towel compresses, an overdose of vitamin c, tiger balm compresses, and the thing i don't don't the english word for, where you put a towel...

I'm not sure there is an english word for it as such - I've always just clled it 'steaming my head'... whatever

Also good is to put eucalyptus oil in a hot bath and have a good soak - more comfy than the head over the bowl at least.

Get well soon kiss

so.. today was my first russian lesson (ok, i did take a few russian lessons a couple of years ago but they don't count).

i learnt to say "i'm doing wonderfully", "my sister is a doctor" and "he is happy" among some other things. the alphabet is quite cryptic but i'm sure it'll sink in someday.

i've also signed up for ashtanga yoga course, finally....

last weekend I was floating down a sporadically white-water river on an innertube

and a dragonfly landed on my thumb - wearing a greenblack elegant camouflage pattern

I thought of you - dragonflygirl

have you seen the movie - The Cuckoo

there is pixie spirit and deep Russian soul in your reflection - I'd love to be able to read Dostoevsky in the original

as for me - I dabble in the Ancients ......... Latin & Greek and a little French

each language is a whole different way of knowing

for instance the French expression - esprit d'escalier ; the spirit of the staircase - describes an emotion that there are no words for in English

.............. that feeling of finding the perfect comeback/retort to an argument ----------->while you are on the stairs leaving the party
