I'm coming home from class on the subway today, and here's the thing: I never pay for a ticket or a pass or whatever, because I live 2 stations away, and two of the three stations are in a free zone. So I get into one of the cars and it's fairly crowded, standing room only, and there's maybe 6 or 7 people standing near the door I am. I take a quick glance at those surrounding me, and look down to an ETS shoulder patch. Shit. Transit cop. He looks at a few people, and then to me, as several more people get into the car, and I am casually making my way to the other end of the car. It was around this point I think he decided that the car was too full for him to check for tickets alone, and gets out to move to another car. So thank you to all the people who stuffed my subway car this afternoon.

Say yr comment in the lawschool thread. I don't know where you got that data, but NYC attorneys usually make more than that, if they are in private practice. Most large firms in new york have a starting salary of 110-150k. Although small and medium firms start lower, it's not that much lower. Public practice (procecuters, pulic defenders, etc) really throw off the money making average.

Yeah, any advice I can give you, I'd be glad to help. I 'm currently at rutgers law school outside of philadelphia, but we also have a law campus outside new york in Newark NJ. I'm really happy here. But if you hav any questions about applying or anything, let me know. If you want to visit my school while your down here, you can probably take a train to philly. there are some good schools down here besides us, like Penn and Temple.
