I'm coming home from class on the subway today, and here's the thing: I never pay for a ticket or a pass or whatever, because I live 2 stations away, and two of the three stations are in a free zone. So I get into one of the cars and it's fairly crowded, standing room only, and there's maybe 6 or 7 people standing near the door I am. I take a quick glance at those surrounding me, and look down to an ETS shoulder patch. Shit. Transit cop. He looks at a few people, and then to me, as several more people get into the car, and I am casually making my way to the other end of the car. It was around this point I think he decided that the car was too full for him to check for tickets alone, and gets out to move to another car. So thank you to all the people who stuffed my subway car this afternoon.
