Yeah, the only reason I put the question marks by Metheny's name was that the thread wanted "guitar rock albums". While a lot of rock fans I know cringe when I bring up the man's name, I never the less hold to the belief that, next to Thruston Moore and Yngvie Malmsteen, Metheny has probably had more impact on the way the electric guitar is actually played than any guitarist in the last 15 years. His influence is audible in everyone from Tortoise to Rage Agnaist the Machine to Radiohead to Herbie Hancock.
